Success in Rural Dance Communities – March 27, 2021 @ 2:00pm Join AUDA and Irene Widdup in a zoom session to chat with a successful Rural Studio Owner. Irene is the owner, artistic director of Footworks Dance Academy and the President Alberta Dance Educators Association Learn what works and what doesn’t work in a real environment, how to keep dancers engaged and coming back each year. This is designed for Club Board Members and Presidents. This session is followed by a round table discussion with AUDA President Emily Belke for open conversation about what is impacting you and the Ukrainian Community in Alberta. Making Strengthening Fun – April 10, 2021 @2:00pm As a Competitive Gymnastic Coach and Facilitator of the Foundations program for training Gymnastics coaches, Keegan Farrell will lead a class to show you how to keep strengthening fun! You will leave with fun games and activities to add to your dance classes. He will also chat about safety for growing bodies. After years of working with Ukrainian Dance summer camps and AcroDance classes he brings a wealth of knowledge that will bring a new level of instruction to your classes. Restorative Mental Health – April 17, 2021 @5:15 Join AUDA and Natalka Lewis to help ease back to class while taking care of the one person we think of last, ourselves! Natalka is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC-Q) who holds a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology, a BA in Dance and is a certified ballet teacher with Cecchetti Canada. She brings valuable lived experience to her counselling with artists, dancers and athletes. With a focus on self-care and resilience through COVID times, you will be able to leave the workshop feeling refreshed and ready to adapt to the new rules in and outside of the studio. Extend Your Flexibility – April 24, 2021 @2:00 With over a decade of experience as a dance and acrobatic educator, choreographer and coach in the community, Candace Kalwajtys will inspire and teach you ways to make your students stronger and more flexible.
