Steven joined AUDA in 2019, after retiring from dance and 16 years with the Volya Ukrainian Dance Ensemble. Steven currently is a Ukrainian dance instructor at several Ukrainian dance clubs in Alberta! He originally became involved in Ukrainian dance in kindergarten when he was enrolled at Hollyrood Elementary School in the Ukrainian Bilingual Program. Steven loves the acrobatic tricks and solos that can be seen in a traditional Hopak, but he considers the physical benefits of dance and opportunities to share his culture as the most important aspects of Ukrainian dance. When Steven isn’t teaching, he spends his time skiing, canoeing, and enjoying the outdoors.
